SHG women members in Telangana’s Yadadri get drones, mobile millet cafes

Ten women Self-Help Group members from Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district in Telangana received drones and another ten were given mobile millet cafes, as part of an initiative to promote technology-driven livelihoods for women. This endeavor aims to empower women through technology and economic self-sufficiency. Thirty-five women were trained in drone operations, while thirty-five others learned to run millet cafes.

The training focused on equipping women with skills in technology, enterprise management, and self-employment. Among the trained beneficiaries, ten women were chosen to receive ten drones, valued at ₹67 lakh, while another ten received ten mobile millet cafes, worth ₹37.2 lakh. The drone initiative intends to allow trained women to offer drone-based agricultural services to farmers, creating self-employment opportunities and income generation, while enhancing access to technology-driven farming services in rural areas.

Meanwhile, the mobile millet cafe scheme aims to establish local markets for nutritious millet-based food products, encourage sustainable livelihoods for women, and promote wider consumption of millets.
