Selena Gomez has vehemently responded to a fraud lawsuit accusing her mental health wellness brand, Wondermind, of misleading investors. According to People, the lawsuit targets Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, and former Wondermind co-CEO Daniella Pierson, alleging they misrepresented the company's infrastructure, leadership, and resources while raising over a million dollars in investments.

This claim is based on a September 2025 article in The Cut, which interviewed former Wondermind employees who described their experience working for Teefey as unpleasant. The article suggested Teefey was unwell, disorganized, and not up to the challenge of running the company alone. Pierson, the founder of The Newsette and a subject of a Forbes takedown article last year, left Wondermind a year after its 2021 founding, reportedly after a conflict with Teefey.

The lawsuit alleges that investors became concerned about getting their money back when Forbes reported in May 2025 that the company had failed to pay its employees. Gomez reportedly covered these debts.
