‘School thik karo’: Dipke’s 1st audit flags gaps in Hingoli school - watch

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, May 2023 - Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), launched the 'School Thik Karo' campaign in his village of Santuk Pimpri, Hingoli district, urging a nationwide social audit of government schools in rural regions. In a video, Dipke questioned students about school amenities, noting issues such as lack of drinking water, benches, dirty toilets, broken windows, and inadequate water supply.

Speaking on social media, Dipke lamented that, after 80 years of independence, government schools still lacked basic facilities. He claimed the village sarpanch pledged to address the issues within a week. The CJP intends to release a standardized assessment form via social media, enabling residents to report deficiencies through video uploads.

The campaign will target key facilities such as electricity, clean drinking water, separate and functional toilets for boys and girls, benches, and quality midday meals. Sarpanchs will be encouraged to document improvements via before-and-after photographs for public display. Dipke emphasized that government schools had been neglected regardless of which political party governed.

He also criticized the expenditure on large banners during a Tiranga rally, suggesting the funds could have been better utilized for school improvements. The CJP has recently focused on education and youth-related issues, previously joining student protests in Delhi's Jantar Mantar.
