Saudi support boosts Yemen’s power supply by 350 MW across three provinces

The electricity minister of Yemen, Adnan Al-Kaf, has announced that Saudi assistance will add 350 megawatts of power to the country's grid in three provinces. This boost will increase the number of hours of power supply and improve overall services. Speaking to Al Hadath TV, Al-Kaf confirmed that the Saudi support for Yemen's electricity sector will help the country meet the growing demand for electricity and enhance the quality of services provided to its citizens.

The minister, who is operating from the capital city of Aden, outlined an emergency plan to address the needs of the electricity sector and other essential services in liberated areas. He emphasized the government's ambition to set an example by providing services in both cities and liberated regions, highlighting that Saudi support for power stations is a crucial step towards improving the country's electricity supply.

Regarding the security situation, Al-Kaf stated that the presence of Houthi militias in the region cannot coexist with peace. He noted that the Houthis target Yemeni resources and civilian sites, exacerbating the suffering of the population. The minister further stated that countries that opposed the liberation of Hodeidah are now enduring the consequences of Houthi violations and threats to navigation.

Al-Kaf stressed that the attacks on civilian sites by the Houthis directly impact the lives of Yemenis and worsen the humanitarian and service conditions, underscoring the government's ongoing operations from Aden under an emergency plan.
