Rutgers Athletics Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Class

Rutgers Athletics has unveiled its 2026 Hall of Fame class, honoring four distinguished former athletes. The inaugural group comprises Kahleah Copper, a notable women’s basketball player; Amy Lewis, a distinguished field hockey alumna; Gabrielle Farquharson, a renowned track and field champion; and Steve Rammel, a celebrated soccer star.

Copper, a second-team All-Big Ten selection twice during her tenure, led the team in scoring thrice, amassing 1,872 points and ranking third on Rutgers’ all-time scoring chart. Her senior season was exceptional, recording double-digits in most games and achieving 11 double-doubles. Post-graduation, Copper flourished in the WNBA, earning five All-Star titles, MVP of the WNBA Finals, and a spot on the 2024 All-WNBA Second Team.

Lewis, Rutgers’ all-time leading scorer in field hockey with 71 goals and 159 points, earned accolades as a second-team All-American and Big East Offensive Player of the Year in her standout 2008 season. Farquharson, a seven-time all-American and Rutgers’ inaugural Big Ten champion (three times), holds nine school records and established herself as a trailblazer in her field.

Rammel, despite his brief stint at Rutgers, left an indelible mark with 84 points and laid the foundation for future success. His professional career included being the first MLS player to score a hat-trick and making significant contributions as a coach in the MLS and college realms.
