Romero reflects on ‘imperfect’ Spurs spell ahead of Atletico move

Cristian Romero has admitted he "wasn't perfect" during his five years at Tottenham, but insists he leaves the club with no regrets over his commitment. The Argentina defender is set to join Atletico Madrid after a £34.2 million transfer from the north London club. His final game at Tottenham came in April, when a knee injury forced him to miss the rest of the Premier League season. Despite occasional controversy, such as plans to return to Argentina for a final league game, Romero leaves with a lasting connection to the club and its supporters. "I'm leaving the club, but a part of my heart will always remain here," he added. "Once I was one of you. Today, I leave as one of you forever."
