Rahmat Shah’s century powers Afghanistan to 4-0 ODI series sweep over Ireland

Afghanistan's captain, Rahmat Shah, led the team to a dominant 4-0 series win over Ireland with a century in the final one-day international in Belfast. Shah scored an unbeaten 143 not out, while his partner Sediqullah Atal put on a record third-wicket partnership of 201 runs. The Afghan team's slump to 22-2 in the sixth over, courtesy of Liam McCarthy, was quickly turned around by the duo.

Atal's efforts were nearly derailed when he was caught by Cade Carmichael, but Afghanistan pushed on. Despite Curtis Campher's quickfire 96, the Irish total of 298-7 seemed insufficient. Afghanistan's all-rounder, Liam McCarthy, claimed two wickets, but the tourists' steady progress under Shah and Atal's partnership, coupled with Azmatullah Omarzai's rapid 24, ensured a seven-ball victory.
