Police arrest two suspected drug dealers

The Delta State Police Command has apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in drug trafficking, alongside seizing 132 packets of tramadol. Bright Edafe, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, announced this development in a statement on Friday. According to Edafe, on August 13, 2026, members of the police patrol team under Operation Delta Shield intercepted a Toyota Hiace bus with the registration number ZBL-549-XA while conducting a stop-and-search operation along Nnebisi Road in Asaba.

During the search, the team discovered 132 packs of 100mg Tramadol and apprehended two suspects, Hillary Osondu, aged 54, and Abubakar Bello, also 54. The suspects are currently under custody, and the investigation is ongoing. In a separate incident, on the same day, officers from Division 'A' in Warri were alerted about the theft of a 2003 Toyota Corolla with the registration number WW-579MD from Awani Close in Ajamugha, Warri.

A joint operation with the Dragon Patrol Team ensued, resulting in the vehicle's recovery barely two hours later at Winners Church Road, Ughelli. Edafe mentioned that the efforts are still underway to identify and apprehend the suspects linked to the incident.
