PKR to sharpen communications strategy to ensure government message reaches public

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) plans to enhance its communications strategy to ensure the government's message reaches the public more effectively, according to delegates at the 2026 PKR National Congress. Communications Minister and PKR information chief Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil revealed that several motions and proposals were raised during the congress held at the Melaka International Trade Centre in Ayer Keroh.

Fahmi emphasized the importance of this move, stating that if delegates have observed that many of the government's efforts and achievements, especially at the macroeconomic level, have not yet been translated into household-level improvements, strengthening information and communications would be crucial. During the congress, Fahmi pledged to outline several views and proposed changes related to information and communications discussed by delegates during the closing session.

Fahmi expressed openness to the proposals, appreciating the willingness of branch leaders to play a more significant role in communicating information to the grassroots. He acknowledged that branch chiefs had previously expressed their intention to take on a greater role as information channels, but suggested a more formal relationship could better channel parliamentary-level issues to Putrajaya and facilitate efforts to resolve them.

Fahmi pointed out that PKR's central leadership council (MPP) is reviewing all proposals submitted by delegates with humility and plans to implement changes from the party's leadership. Strengthening communication at all levels is essential for ensuring that members' and communities' concerns are conveyed effectively to the government while enabling the public to better understand the party's policies and achievements.
