On Saturday, August 15, 2026, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across major Indian cities including Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Oil prices surged more than $1 per barrel due to tense US-Iran talks, with no end in sight for faltering negotiations to resolve the Iran war. Consequently, there has been no change in petrol and diesel rates in India.

In Delhi, petrol costs ₹102.12 per litre and diesel costs ₹95.20 per litre. Premium petrol options include XP100 at ₹167.35 per litre and XP95 at ₹109.24 per litre. XP95 is a 95-octane, E20 ethanol fuel priced around ₹105–115 per litre for high-compression cars, while XP100 is a 100-octane, ethanol-free fuel for ultra-luxury and high-performance vehicles, priced roughly between ₹160–170 per litre.

Crude oil futures experienced a rise over $1 per barrel on Friday, driven by tanker attacks and lack of progress towards a cease-fire agreement between the US and Iran. Brent crude oil settled at $88.52 a barrel, up 1.67%, and West Texas Intermediate crude finished at $82.40, up $1.15 or 1.42%. Analysts predict a rally into the weekend following continued tanker attacks and the absence of a peace deal.
