Osun Decides: Akpabio has ordered stop to collation -Davido alleges

Residents of Iree, a locality in Osun State, have reportedly taken action to stop suspected political violence during the ongoing governorship election. A video shared on social media depicted a group of locals confronting and subduing a person they believed to be an All Progressives Congress (APC) thug. This incident follows numerous reports of concerns regarding vote buying and election-related unrest in certain areas of the state.

According to the source of the video, the residents "came out to neutralize one of APC thugs in Iree," indicating that the event displayed the resolute commitment of voters to safeguard their votes. Prior to this incident, another video emerged purporting to show a group of young Osun citizens seizing funds allegedly designated for vote buying by APC supporters.

Osun State currently has 15 political parties vying for the position of governor, who will serve a four-year term in the Bola Ige Government House. Among these parties, incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke is seeking re-election under the Accord Party banner. Two candidates, Adesina Adeyemi-Doro from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), have both withdrawn from the race. Despite their withdrawals, both APGA and APM continue to remain on the ballot.
