Osun Decides: 55-year-old voter laments BVAS failure

A 55-year-old voter, Sharafa Lasisi, has expressed frustration over a malfunction with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) that hindered his ability to vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election. Lasisi, who was at Alamisi Unit 6 to cast his ballot, encountered repeated failures during the facial verification process due to network issues.

He recounted his experience, stating, "My name is Sharafa Lasisi. I am from Alamisi Unit 6. I am 55 years old. I have been to where they are supposed to verify my face, but they said the network isn’t letting the verification go through." Despite being advised to return later, the issue persisted, leaving Lasisi dissatisfied. He appealed to INEC officials to take immediate action so he could exercise his constitutional right to vote, saying, "I want them to help me so I will be able to cast my vote also."

This incident has sparked concerns about technical and network challenges impacting voter accreditation in certain polling units during the Osun governorship election.
