NPP election: COKA fries eggs with Matan Nasara members at voting centre

Emerging contender for the Ashanti Regional chairmanship of the New Patriotic Party, COKA, took a break from election duties to join members of the Matan Nasara group in frying eggs at a voting centre on Saturday. The former Afigya Sekyere South Constituency Chairman was present at the election centre as the NPP held its regional executive elections nationwide.

COKA, who is battling former Bantama Member of Parliament Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu for the Ashanti Regional leadership, joined a group of women who had set up a tent to provide food and refreshments for delegates during the voting process. His short time at the cooking station was met with cheers from delegates and supporters, offering a moment of levity amidst the election proceedings.

COKA is in a tight race against Dr Kokofu for the Ashanti Regional chairmanship, which will see him take on the responsibility of leading the party's regional operations and spearheading efforts to galvanise grassroots support in preparation for the 2028 general elections. The region's electoral process is part of the NPP's wider internal realignment following its electoral setback in the 2024 national poll.
