Noreen and James McHugh were soulmates, funeral told

The funeral mass of Noreen and James McHugh, a married couple from Cill Chartha, Co Donegal, was held at St Cartha's Parish Church. Hundreds attended the service, standing outside due to the church's capacity. Bishop Niall Coll of the Diocese of Raphoe expressed his sorrow and sympathy for the tragic and untimely deaths of the McHugh couple.

James and Noreen McHugh were highly respected members of the Kilcar parish and county community. The couple had lost their best friends, their supportive family, and lived for each other's presence.

Noreen McHugh served as the secretary to the local school for over 20 years, playing a crucial role in the education and well-being of children. She was known for her calm demeanor and willingness to make things easier for others. James McHugh was an avid football player and a dedicated servant of the community. Bishop Coll highlighted the McHugh's legacy, stating that their loss has left a void in the hearts of many.

The funeral procession, led by a guard of honor, made its way from St Cartha's Church to the parish cemetery, where Noreen and James McHugh were laid to rest.
