Nigerian police arrest, repatriate Chadian, Mahadijiria Abdoulaye wanted for murder

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested and repatriated Mahadijiria Abdoulaye, a Chadian national, for the alleged murder of Nazik Mahamat Saleh. This occurred after Abdoulaye was sought by N'Djamena authorities over Saleh's death on May 3, 2026. An INTERPOL National Central Bureau, NCB, Abuja statement on August 5, 2026, reported her apprehension.

Saleh had been tortured and killed. A warrant for Abdoulaye's arrest was issued on June 22, 2026. Abdoulaye, also implicated in narcotics trafficking in Chad, fled to Nigeria after the incident. She was traced and arrested at Railway Quarters in Kano State's Nasarawa Local Government Area. Her repatriation to Chad took place on August 14 via Lomé, Togo, via established police cooperation agreements.

Interpol NCB Abuja collaborated with Interpol NCB N'Djamena for her return to Chad to face judicial proceedings. Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu commended INTERPOL NCB Abuja's professionalism and coordination with Chadian counterparts. Disu emphasized the police's dedication to ensuring fugitives face justice regardless of crossing borders.

The police reasserted their commitment to leveraging international policing channels and partnerships to track down fugitives, disrupt trans-border criminal networks, and prevent wanted individuals from seeking refuge in Nigeria.
