NGC celebrates 79th Independence Day

Lahore witnessed the National Grid Company of Pakistan (NGC) paying homage to the nation’s 79th Independence Day through flag hoisting ceremonies held at all its installations and field offices across the country. This demonstrated a strong patriotic spirit and unity among the employees. The highlight of the celebrations was a central ceremony held at the TSG Training Centre in New Kot Lakhpat, Lahore.

Dr. Fiaz Ahmed Chaudhry, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik, Managing Director, served as the chief guests, hoisting the flag and cutting a celebratory cake. In his speech, Dr. Fiaz Ahmad Chaudhry paid tribute to the sacrifices made during the struggle for independence, stressing the collective responsibility of citizens to prioritize national interests over personal gains.

He highlighted that the key to prosperity lies in learning from past experiences while promoting peace and unity. Engr. Altaf Hussain Malik echoed these sentiments, urging everyone to reaffirm their commitment to contribute to Pakistan’s progress and prosperity with honesty and a sense of duty. He emphasized that NGC, as the backbone of the country’s power system, plays a crucial role in meeting the nation’s electricity demands.

With a focus on professional excellence, innovation, teamwork, and a spirit of national service, NGC is set to continue its journey towards building a more reliable National Grid. As part of the festivities, children of NGC employees performed patriotic songs and presented a tableau, displaying their love and pride for Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with the chief guests planting commemorative saplings and inaugurating the newly renovated hostel at the TSG Training Center. Senior leadership, including Deputy Managing Director Engr. Rasheed A. Bhutto, Executive Directors, General Managers, C-Suite officers, Directors General, sports personalities, females, and a large representation of NGC officers and staff, attended the event.
