Netflix’s Ted Sarandos Celebrated as the ‘Most Loved Industry Executive’ at TV Academy Hall of Fame Induction

The Television Academy inducted a list of notable figures into its Hall of Fame on Thursday, including Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, actors Ted Danson and Jean Smart, documentary producer Sheila Nevins and “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The ceremony also paid tribute to the late Ed Bradley. Jerry Seinfeld, the comedian, toasted Sarandos' induction at the 28th annual ceremony, noting that he was "not only the most respected, but also the most-loved industry executive" he has ever seen.

Sarandos expressed surprise at being inducted, attributing his success to the stability provided by television despite his own challenging childhood. Danson received a heartfelt tribute from his wife Mary Steenburgen, who spoke of her husband's enduring ability to connect with audiences. Smart was honored for her versatility, having excelled in comedy, drama, and romantic roles, even after a lifetime of appearances on television.

Parker and Stone were inducted by their friend Bill Hader, while Nevins was introduced by Lily Tomlin. Bradley was remembered by his widow Patricia Blanchet, with the ceremony concluding on a lighter note as Danson joked about his mother's skepticism about his success.
