Muzic Mensah earns spot in Boomplay’s inaugural NEXT WAVE programme

Ghanaian artist Muzic Mensah has been chosen as one of 18 up-and-coming African musicians for Boomplay’s first ‘NEXT WAVE’ programme, a significant step in his burgeoning music career. Boomplay announced the inaugural edition of the program after an open call that attracted submissions from artists across various African nations.

The platform had intended to select 15 artists but expanded the list to 18 based on the impressive calibre of talent submitted. Muzic Mensah is one of five Ghanian artists selected, alongside Mifa Grey, Itz Mr Roy, Goddy Wan and Hi Priest. According to Boomplay, the chosen musicians were recognized for their dedication, creativity and authenticity, representing the diverse sounds and emerging talent contributing to Africa’s music scene.

The programme aims to increase the spotlight on these artists across Boomplay's platforms and channels starting next week. This move is intended to broaden the artists' exposure and connect them with new audiences throughout Africa. For Muzic Mensah, the acknowledgment comes at a pivotal point in his career. Recently, he unveiled his latest single, "All Correct," as he continues to expand his discography, fine-tune his sound and define his identity within Ghana's dynamic music landscape.

His inclusion in NEXT WAVE further adds to his list of career achievements. The musician has garnered nominations at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA and the Ghana Music Awards Europe, including accolades in categories linked to Highlife and diaspora music. With his selection in Boomplay’s inaugural NEXT WAVE programme, Muzic Mensah now possesses an additional platform to exhibit his music, engage new listeners, and solidify his standing within the broader African music industry.
