Multiple shooters and people shot at Virginia State University

On Saturday night, a shooting occurred at Virginia State University, leaving five individuals wounded, one critically. The incident happened near the university's Quad Annexes as students were preparing for the new academic year. Police apprehended a 19-year-old suspect, Camron Harris, hiding in a dormitory closet. Harris, who is not a student at the university, along with four others, suffered gunshot wounds.

The victims ranged in age from 17 to 23, with one of the injured being a VSU student who has since been released from the hospital. Police have issued eight felony warrants for Harris, including charges of malicious wounding and using a firearm in a felony. The university's statement emphasized their commitment to the safety and well-being of the VSU community amidst the incident.
