Marvel confirms cast for new ‘X‑Men’ film (VIDEO)

LOS ANGELES, August 15 — Marvel Studios has officially announced the first wave of cast members for their upcoming X-Men film, a reboot set to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film, directed by Jake Schreier, will premiere in 2027 after Avengers: Secret Wars and marks the MCU's first full-scale introduction of the X-Men.

The confirmed cast comprises rising stars and established names, including Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops/Scott Summers, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Adam Driver as Mr. Sinister, Maya Boyd as Storm, and Inde Navarrette as Rogue. Recent MCU titles, such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Deadpool & Wolverine, had already hinted at mutant integration, but the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (December 18) is expected to make the most significant narrative push.

Legacy actors from the Fox era, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden, Rebecca Romijn, Alan Cumming, and Channing Tatum, will reprise their roles in Doomsday. Director Schreier, who collaborated with Lee Sung Jin and Joanna Calo on the Thunderbolts and Netflix's Beef scripts, emphasized that the recently released cast list was the first definitive confirmation of the new mutant roster, dispelling many online rumors.
