Lost Resolved One Major Character's Storyline In A DVD-Exclusive Epilogue

The Lost series finale brought nearly all the cast members back together for a poignant conclusion, yet one key character was notably absent from the final moments. This was due to the show's decision to resolve his storyline in an exclusive DVD epilogue. In this enlightening 11-minute short, it was revealed that Malcolm David Kelley's Walt, Michael's 10-year-old son, had actually become a steward of the island.

The epilogue also showed Benjamin Linus emancipating two Dharma Initiative employees and answering some of the show's lingering questions. Although Walt had been a central character from the beginning, his inclusion in the finale became complicated due to Kelley's age and rapid growth. The show had to account for this as Walt's last canonical appearance on the island was in Season 2.

In the series finale, the majority of characters were depicted in a church-like setting, symbolizing their souls' transition into the afterlife. However, Walt and his father were notably missing from this scene, as Walt was still alive and working on the island, having joined forces with Ben and Hurley.
