Lithuania not ruling out downed drone over Latvia was 'false flag' operation

A downed drone, currently unidentified, may have been involved in a false flag operation, according to Lithuania's Prime Minister Saulius Sinkevicius. The aircraft's fate remains uncertain, as it has yet to be located. Sinkevicius stated that experts could potentially trace the drone's target by examining its microchips. When asked directly if the incident was a false flag operation, Sinkevicius replied that this possibility cannot be ruled out at this point.

Meanwhile, Lithuania's National Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas revealed that his country's intelligence services had received information suggesting Russia was contemplating provocations in the Baltic region. However, no final decision or specific date had been determined.

Kaunas explained that Russia may potentially employ Ukrainian drones for such operations, which would constitute a false flag operation. The Latvian military confirmed that on the night of Friday, August 14, fighter jets from NATO allied nations successfully intercepted and took down a drone that had entered Latvian airspace.
