‘Lilo and Stitch 2’ Will Introduce Fan-Favorite Character Angel

The upcoming sequel to the beloved "Lilo & Stitch" franchise, "Lilo & Stitch 2," is set to introduce a familiar fan-favorite character: Angel. Angel is the pink alien and girlfriend of the series' main character, Stitch. The announcement of Angel's appearance was made through a brief title treatment at the D23 event. Maia Kealoha, who portrayed Lilo in the 2025 release, took the stage to discuss the sequel.

Angel is represented by her antennae rising up to form a Roman numeral "2" during the announcement. Angel, also known as Experiment 624, first appeared in the "Stitch! The Series" television show and has since been featured in various spinoff materials. The character is highly recognizable among fans and has proven to be a successful merchandising item, particularly in international parks such as Disneyland Paris.

"Lilo & Stitch 2" will be written and directed by Chris Sanders, who previously directed the original 2002 animated feature alongside Dean DeBlois. Sanders has also been involved in the "Lilo & Stitch" franchise as the voice of the titular character. A new animated short titled "Lilo & Scratch" will precede Disney's animated film "Hexed" in theaters this fall.

"Lilo & Stitch 2" is scheduled to release on May 26, 2028, and this time the lovable creature, Stitch, will not be alone. The sequel will be released in theaters on May 26, 2028.
