KDMC Marks 80th Independence Day With Tiranga Rally, Flag Hoisting And Tributes In Kalyan-Dombivli

The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) marked India's 80th Independence Day with patriotic fervour on Friday, organizing a series of flag-hoisting ceremonies, commemorative events and tributes across Kalyan and Dombivli. The celebrations kicked off at the KDMC headquarters, where Mayor Harshali Chaudhary unfurled the national flag. KDMC Commissioner Abhinav Goel, along with municipal officials, witnessed the ceremony.

In Dombivli, Deputy Mayor Rahul Damle hoisted the tricolour at the old Divisional Office. During the events, floral tributes were paid at the memorials of fallen heroes, Captain Vinaykumar Sachan and others. The highlight of the day was the grand Tiranga Rally, organized by the Dr Shrikant Shinde Foundation. Thousands of students, citizens and civic representatives marched through the streets, singing patriotic songs and displaying the national flag.

The rally concluded at Dattanagar Chowk, where a massive 150-foot-tall flag was ceremoniously hoisted. Notable attendees included MP Dr Shrikant Shinde, MLA Rajesh More, Mayor Harshali Chaudhary and Commissioner Abhinav Goel. Emphasizing the significance of the day, the dignitaries urged citizens to uphold values of freedom, unity and pride in their nation.

The KDMC's efforts transformed the twin cities into a vibrant display of patriotism, reinforcing the spirit of national integration and civic participation on India's 80th Independence Day.
