KDM withdraws support for GRS-led Sabah government

Parti Kesejahteraan Demokratik Masyarakat (KDM) has withdrawn its support for the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government in Sabah. KDM president Priscella Peter stated that the decision had to be made to ensure KDM had a clear direction and was not just active during election season. She emphasized that the party needed to regain the trust of the people at the grassroots level.

The move was not easy, but it was necessary to show the people and grassroots members that KDM had a clear direction. Priscella Peter noted that KDM leaders affiliated with agencies or government-linked companies (GLCs) will comply with the protocol set after the party withdraws support from the GRS government. The decision was made collectively, considering the interests of the party and future generations.

KDM is not contesting solo in the upcoming General Election (GE) but is open to working with local parties to form a political bloc based on Sabah's interests. Discussions with parties such as Parti Warisan (WARISAN) and Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) have been held, but no final decision has been made yet.
