Israeli strike kills 7 in Lebanon, 2 tankers attacked in Hormuz and other news from the Middle East

On Saturday, an Israeli airstrike in Lebanon killed seven people, marking one of the deadliest incidents since a fragile truce between Israel and Hezbollah took effect on June 20. The attack targeted a home on the outskirts of Ansar village, resulting in seven fatalities and three injuries, according to Lebanon's state-run National News Agency.

Meanwhile, two vessels were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz. One tanker belonging to Abu Dhabi's state-owned oil and gas company ADNOC was hit while passing through the waterway on Friday evening. No injuries were reported in this incident. This marks the third attack on ADNOC vessels in the Strait of Hormuz within the past week. The United Arab Emirates has accused Iran of orchestrating these attacks but has not commented on the most recent one.

These attacks come amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East. The UAE has accused Iran of the attacks, but the UAE has yet to comment on Friday's incident specifically. The Strait of Hormuz has been virtually closed since hostilities began on February 28, when U.S. and Israeli forces launched strikes against Iran. Roughly one-fifth of the world's traded oil and natural gas pass through this strategic waterway.
