Herbstreit Thinks Star QB's Struggles Will Only Help Him

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit believes that Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning's struggles during the 2025 season will ultimately benefit him. Manning, the son of a famous football family, had high expectations placed upon him from a young age, but his performance fell short of those lofty goals. Herbstreit appeared on The Pat McAfee Show and suggested that the adversity Manning faced last year will help him both in the present and future.

He likened the experience to "round two" and believed that having endured the scrutiny and lack of respect he received would make Manning stronger mentally and emotionally. Herbstreit also noted that many college stars enter the NFL without facing significant adversity in college, which can lead to difficulties once they reach the professional level.
