HC CJ reminds people of their fundamental duties on 80th Independence Day

On the 80th Independence Day, the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, Lisa Gill, reminded citizens of their fundamental duties and encouraged them to fulfill them while enjoying the rights granted by the Constitution. In her address, Gill expressed gratitude to the freedom fighters whose sacrifices led to India's independence.

She emphasized that India's liberation from British rule was the result of the tireless efforts and sacrifices made by many great leaders. Gill appealed to every citizen to contribute to nation-building, following the ideals of the martyrs.

She highlighted the judiciary's crucial role in protecting the principles of freedom, equality, and social justice enshrined in the Constitution. Gill stated that the courts have been committed to providing justice in an efficient and transparent manner, prioritizing the rights of marginalized and weaker sections. She urged judges, bar associations, and lawyers to collaborate and uphold the rule of law and constitutional values to instill trust in the litigant public.

During the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the High Court, Gill inaugurated four Lok Adalats, which successfully resolved 13,95,017 cases amicably.
