‘Have to isolate dimaagi Naxals’: PM Modi in Independence Day speech from Red Fort

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation from the Red Fort on Independence Day, calling for the isolation of what he termed "dimaagi Naxals" and asserting that armed Naxalism and Maoist violence were on the decline. While armed Naxals had been eliminated, Modi warned that "intellectual Naxals" still remained, and vigilance was necessary.

Naxalism and Maoism had plagued the country for decades, causing the loss of thousands of lives and preventing millions of young people from realizing their potential. The government, Modi stated, had made eliminating Naxalism a top priority since coming to power in 2014. The security situation in Naxal-affected regions had improved, with development initiatives reaching areas that had previously been plagued by violence.

Modi expressed satisfaction that Naxalite and Maoist violence was no longer able to sustain itself and was on its way to being completely eradicated. Areas previously marked by Naxalite violence now saw the tricolor of development and progress.
