Government artillery responds to Houthi shelling in Al-Silw front southeast of Taiz

Government artillery retaliated against Houthi shelling in the Al-Silw region, southeast of Taiz. This came after the Houthis launched attacks in the area. The government's response aimed to counter the threat posed by the Houthi militants. The National Committee for Investigating Alleged Human Rights Violations has initiated field investigations in the region and at the port of Mokha.

Their mission is to scrutinize the recent Houthi missile strikes that targeted civilian and service facilities. The committee's team meticulously inspected the damage, examined missile and drone remnants, and collected evidence for analysis by military experts. They also gathered testimonies from port officials, the wounded, and documented the extent of the damage, injuries, and civilian casualties.

Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan expressed grave concern, stating that the shelling of Mokha port and civilian infrastructure represents a severe breach of international humanitarian law. He emphasized the necessity for condemnation, accountability, and deterrence to protect civilians and safeguard economic and humanitarian interests.
