General : Sultan Nazrin Graces Perak Merdeka Month Programme

IPOH: Perak's Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah attended a program this year to foster loyalty to the King and country during National Month 2026. Zulkafli Mohamed Mokhtar, director of the Perak Education Department, revealed that program participation rose by 15% compared to the prior year, highlighting its increasing importance as a stage to cultivate students' talents, self-assurance, and potential.

He emphasized that the program significantly influenced students' physical growth, mindset, values, and future, aligning with Malaysia's Education Plan (RPM) 2026-2035. Zulkafli noted that the program also backed Perak's objective to produce students who are not only academically proficient but also possess strong character, critical thinking abilities, and a robust patriotic mindset.

He encouraged students to cherish the nation's history and heritage while acquiring skills to become dependable leaders in the future. Zulkafli highlighted that this generation of future guardians is tasked with preserving Malaysia's independence and royal sovereignty, ensuring a peaceful, prosperous, and glorious future for the country.

In 2028, Perak will observe the 500th anniversary of the Perak Sultanate, a landmark representing the monarchy's enduring legacy and the people's cultural identity, which have been safeguarded throughout history. The Sultan awarded the Special Achievement Prize to the Kinta Utara District Education Office, granting RM20,000. He also presented accolades to victors of the English Language Public Speaking and Bahasa Melayu Public Speaking Competitions in primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary categories.

Meanwhile, Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim handed out awards to winners of the essay and poetry writing competitions in the same categories. Other attendees included Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh and Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.
