Galatasaray Issue Fresh Warning to Arsenal over Osimhen

Galatasaray's President, Dursun Özbek, has issued a stern warning to Arsenal regarding striker Victor Osimhen, stating that the Turkish club has no intention of selling him. The Super Eagles forward's name has been mentioned in Arsenal's pursuit of a new signing. Initially, Arsenal's interest was focused on Gabriel Martinelli, but Osimhen's availability was brought up in negotiations.

Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, may have initiated the conversation about Osimhen, or the Nigerian striker could have been offered to the Gunners. Arsenal's long-standing interest in the 27-year-old forward means they are still searching for another player before the transfer window closes. However, Özbek has made it clear that Galatasaray is not willing to part with Osimhen, regardless of the offer size.

This stance came after the club rejected a €130 million (£111m) bid from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for the Nigerian player. This decision highlights Osimhen's significance to Galatasaray since his permanent transfer from his initial loan period, where he has become the club's most important attacking player. Arsenal's pursuit of Osimhen comes at a time when Mikel Arteta is seeking to bolster his attack.

The Gunners manager acknowledged the market's limited options for improvement but affirmed that the club is actively looking to enhance its squad. Osimhen would provide Arsenal with a different attacking profile, boasting explosive pace, physical strength, aerial ability, and aggressive pressing. However, Galatasaray's refusal to entertain a sale means Arsenal might have to explore other options unless the Turkish club's position changes.
