From Farmers To Innovators: 5,000 Special Guests Witness India’s 80th Independence Day Celebrations | Video

Nearly five thousand distinguished guests from various backgrounds gathered at the Red Fort on Saturday to witness the 80th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi. The invitees comprised of women entrepreneurs, young innovators, farmers, and beneficiaries of numerous government initiatives. This included those who benefited from schemes such as PM Mudra Yojana, NAMASTE, PM AJAY, SEED, and My Bharat.

Other notable attendees were the best-performing recipients of PMAY(U), street vendors under PM SVANidhi, urban sanitation workers under the Swachh Bharat Mission, top-performing Delhi Metro workers, employees working on Kartavya Path and Central Vista projects, and staff members of government hospitals in Delhi.

In addition to these, young innovators involved in national innovation programs, scientists in diverse fields, cab drivers from Bharat Taxi in Delhi, interns under the Prime Minister Internship Scheme, and top-performing start-ups supported by various government schemes were also present. Youth trained through the Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana, outstanding start-ups backed by the Start-up India Seed Fund, beneficiaries of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, artisans under the PM Vishwakarma scheme, and recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) Yojana were also invited.

Cultural enrichment was added by over 1,500 individuals from across states and Union territories, who donned traditional attire to join the grand ceremony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 80th Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort on August 15, marking the 150th anniversary of the national song 'Vande Mataram.' For the first time, 'Vande Mataram' was sung at the Red Fort event.
