Freeland’s 8 strong innings, Veen’s home run power Rockies past Giants 5-2

Kyle Freeland delivered a strong eight-inning performance, allowing just one run for the Colorado Rockies as they defeated the slumping San Francisco Giants 5-2. Zac Veen added power to the Rockies' offense with his second home run of the year, driving in four runs with a 406-foot shot down the first base line. Brett Sullivan capitalized on Veen's homer, scoring from third base after Mickey Moniak reached on a sharp grounder to shortstop Christian Koss.

Will Castro contributed with an RBI sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.
