Five workers arrested after electrician dies following assault at Kitengela construction site

Police in Kitengela, Kajiado County have arrested five young men following the death of 23-year-old electrician, James Okoth, who was allegedly assaulted at a construction site over claims he had stolen electrical cables. The incident occurred in the Ola area. Okoth was rushed to Kitengela Sub-County Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.

Visible injuries on his body indicated an assault using a blunt object. Five suspects were arrested at the construction site on suspicion of murder. Police visited the hospital and the assault scene, where they found visible injuries on Okoth's body consistent with an assault. Police emphasized discouragement of mob lynching and urged suspects to surrender to authorities for processing and prosecution.

Meanwhile, police in Narok South Sub-County have launched an investigation after a 35-year-old man, Enoch Kipng'eno Kosgei, died from injuries sustained in a knife attack while heading home in Mogoto village. Kosgei was stabbed on the head with a knife around 10pm on Thursday, August 13, 2026. Police are investigating to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack and identify the assailant.

In Nzaui Sub-County, Makueni County, police are investigating the discovery of an unidentified man's decomposed body found in a ditch near Emali Police Station. The body, believed to be aged 50-55, was dressed in a grey sweater and black trousers, but no identification documents were found on the body. Crime Scene Investigation officers processed the scene before the body was removed and taken to a mortuary for preservation pending a postmortem examination.
