Five-star review of Winkler Bible Camp

Nile Fehr's enthusiasm knows no bounds when discussing the pizza at Winkler Bible Camp. The nine-year-old proclaimed, "The pizza? With support from the Sunshine Fund and Free Press readers, Nile returned to camp in July, leaving him in awe of the experience.

The Sunshine Fund, a 46-year-old initiative, partnered with 31 camps in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario, funding 681 children's trips in 2025. Isabela, Nile's mother, who recently relocated to Winkler from Lethbridge, Alta., expressed gratitude for the financial assistance. "The camp was out of my budget," she noted, emphasizing her son's fortunate opportunity.

While indulging in pizza, rock-climbing, kayaking, and paddleboarding, Nile had an unforgettable summer. His mom, Isabela, appreciated the respite, focusing on self-care while knowing her son thrived. Nile praised all activities but couldn't single out a favorite.
