‘Falcons Might Be the Worst Team in the NFL’ — Ex-Steelers DT Shows Tua Tagovailoa and Co. No Mercy As ATL Gets Crushed in Preseason

The Atlanta Falcons faced their first preseason test against the Denver Broncos on Friday night, with the result leaving much to be desired. Former NFL defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko was unkind in his assessment, declaring that the Falcons might be the worst team in the NFL after a 27-7 loss. Fehoko, speaking on X, said, "You usually don’t put too much stock into preseason games, but the Falcons might be the worst team in the NFL."

The Broncos dominated, outgaining the Falcons 359-192 and controlling possession for over 36 minutes. Despite scoring their first points in the third quarter, the Falcons trailed 24-0 at halftime, a stark reminder of the challenges that lie ahead for Tua Tagovailoa and his new team. Tagovailoa, making his preseason debut since joining Atlanta from the Miami Dolphins, completed three of five passes for 22 yards and was largely limited in his playing time.

The first half was particularly difficult, with Cooper Rush committing two interceptions, including a 97-yard pick-six. The team's performance was uneven, with Atlanta not fielding key players like Bijan Robinson. While a single preseason game does not definitively label a team as the worst in the NFL, it certainly provides enough ammunition for critics to express their concerns.
