EPL: Martin Keown tells Arsenal position to strengthen this summer

However, despite the club's preparations for the 2026-27 season, which begins with a match against Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday, Arteta has not yet agreed to a new deal. He expressed his satisfaction with the current situation, stating, "I am extremely happy. I feel very grateful to work with the people that I work with and when we have the possibility, we will resolve that."

Arteta emphasized that the club's focus on the upcoming transfer window has been his priority, rather than the contract negotiations. He reassured fans that the club is in no rush to finalize his contract and that everyone involved feels comfortable with the current arrangement. Arsenal has strengthened their squad with several signings, including Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, Club Brugge forward Christos Tzolis, and the permanent transfer of Piero Hincapie from Bayern Leverkusen.

They also brought Illan Meslier back on a free transfer. Despite unsuccessful attempts to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa and Vinicius Junior from Real Madrid, Arteta remains confident in the squad's capabilities and the club's ambitions. He reaffirmed his commitment to Arsenal, expressing his happiness with the current squad and the club's overall strategy.
