EFLU clash leaves three students with serious head injuries, 14 booked

A clash erupted between members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and National Students’ Union of India at EFLU campus, resulting in 14 students facing police charges. Three students suffered serious head injuries during the incident, which took place around 4 a.m. on Friday in Basheer Hostel. The Osmania University police booked cases against individuals from both groups following the brawl.

Seven of the 14 booked individuals have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody, while the remaining seven received station bail. The NSUI alleged that the clash began around 10.35 p.m. the previous night at MBC Hostel, with Rishit Nayak and Sonu Raj being targets of caste-based slurs and physical assault, respectively. ABVP members allegedly entered Basheer Hostel around 3 a.m., wielding sticks, and attacked NSUI members, causing numerous injuries.

The EFLU Students’ Union alleged vandalism and verbal abuse of female students. The university administration and police have come under scrutiny for their perceived lack of timely response to the incident.
