Diamondbacks’ Ketel Marte leaves game vs. Braves with left knee soreness

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte exited Arizona's game against Atlanta in the first inning on Friday due to left knee discomfort. The three-time All-Star second baseman fielded a grounder from Braves leadoff hitter Drake Baldwin, who went left, and attempted to throw to first base. Unsuccessful in completing the throw, Marte dropped the ball and was unable to return for the second inning.

Braves' Drake Baldwin reached on an infield single. Marte remained in the game during the first inning but did not rejoin the team for the second. Ildemaro Vargas played second base, Tim Tawa first base, and Jorge Barrosa center field after Marte's departure. Currently, Marte is batting .251 and leads Arizona with 21 home runs and 68 RBIs, having played 95 games at second base this season.
