Costa Blanca pool numbers soar as tourism boom brings another busy August

The Costa Blanca region boasts a staggering 132,495 registered outdoor swimming pools, a significant increase from previous years. Elche leads the province with 8,454 pools, closely followed by Orihuela with 7,375. Rojales and Torrevieja also feature prominently, with 4,991 and 4,931 pools respectively. The increase in pools reflects the region's booming tourism industry, with hotel occupancy levels expected to peak at almost 89% during August.

The Valencian regional tourism department predicts an average occupancy of 88.9% across the province, with Benidorm reaching 92% and inland destinations also performing strongly at around 86%. Tourist apartments are expected to see similar levels of demand, with occupancy forecast to reach 89% province-wide, among the highest in the Valencian Community.

This surge in pool numbers and hotel occupancy demonstrates the enduring appeal of the Costa Blanca as a top tourist destination, catering to a diverse range of visitor preferences.
