Coscoran storms to bronze medal in 1500m European final

Ireland's Andrew Coscoran has secured a bronze medal in the 1500m European final, marking his first major outdoor medal of the European Athletics Championships. The Dublin athlete put in a brave effort, finishing with a time of 3:36.24. Coscoran reflected on his journey, saying, "Hard work eventually pays off. You bide your time, you wait.

I'm absolutely buzzing. It all just clicked on the day. My preparation was really good. I have to thank my team of pacers over the last while. I've been going through a bit of a tough time with things and all the lads have been out on the bikes with me, pacing me and really helping me." The Irish runner made a decisive move in the final 200m, jumping up the standings and securing Ireland's fourth medal of the week.

The competition was intense, with several shocks throughout, but Coscoran found an extra gear to come from behind and claim the bronze. He credited his hard work and support from teammates for his success.
