CF Montreal bans two fans, sanctions support section after MLS investigation

Montreal's CF Montreal has banned two fans and suspended benefits for a supporter section following an investigation into antisemitic language directed at New England Revolution forward Dor Turgeman. The MLS probe came after a game at Stade Saputo on August 1st. The club reported that the conduct violated the MLS Fan Code of Conduct, leading to the two individuals' bans for throwing objects.

CF Montreal announced indefinite suspension of privileges for the supporter section implicated in the probe, emphasizing that antisemitism, racism, and hate of any kind will not be tolerated. The statement added that the team will continue to identify and permanently bar anyone involved in antisemitic chants or discriminatory behavior from club events.

In response to the incident, CF Montréal has engaged with local Jewish community organizations and is committed to strengthening its anti-discrimination initiatives. This includes expanding in-stadium education and awareness efforts, direct engagement with supporters, and enhancing security measures.
