Cardinals rookie RB Jeremiyah Love to miss a week of practice with sore ankle

Arizona Cardinals rookie running back Jeremiyah Love will miss a week of practice due to a sore ankle, according to the Arizona Republic. The 27-year-old, the No. 3 overall pick from Notre Dame, suffered the injury during the team's preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday. Love made an impressive debut, rushing for 58 yards on 11 carries.

However, coach Mike LaFleur noted on Saturday that Love appeared a bit more sore than when he first entered the game. The Cardinals possess a strong backup running back corps consisting of James Conner, Tyler Allgeier, Trey Benson, and Bam Knight. However, Benson is currently dealing with a left knee injury while Conner is recovering from a foot injury that kept him out of action for most of last season.
