Apple’s latest refurb drop brings cheaper MacBooks, iPhone 16 Plus, and Apple Watches

Apple has expanded its Certified Refurbished Store with new MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models, along with additional iPhone 16 Plus variants and Apple Watches. The MacBook Air additions come at a crucial time, as the new M5 models are currently scarce in Apple retail stores, with delivery estimates extending into late August or September.

Moreover, Apple increased MacBook Air prices in June, potentially forcing students to spend more while waiting longer for a new device. The most affordable refurbished M5 MacBook Air available, a 13-inch model with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, costs $1,099 and has already sold out. The cheapest current option is the 15-inch M5 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, priced at $1,269, compared to $1,499 new, representing a $230 saving.

The smallest 13-inch model with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD is available for $1,359, down from $1,599. Apple also offers a 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage for $1,699, instead of the $1,999 new price. The refurbished store showcases the following notable additions: a MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD, a 14-inch M5 MacBook Pro with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and the iPhone 16 Plus, which is the sole remaining official source for the 512GB configuration.

Apple's Certified Refurbished products undergo functional testing and inspection, and each unit comes with a one-year limited warranty and a 14-day return policy. AppleCare is also available for purchase. Supplies are limited, so particular configurations may vanish quickly.
