Andhra Pradesh’s achievements, welfare initiatives showcased during Independence Day celebrations in Amaravati

A vibrant Independence Day celebration unfolded in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu spearheaded the 80th annual festivities at the city's Parade Grounds. The event celebrated both the nation's hard-fought freedom and the state's remarkable achievements.

A grand military display showcased discipline and pride. The Chief Minister, arriving in a procession escorted by motorcycle-mounted security personnel, was greeted by top law enforcement officials at the venue. The ceremony commenced with Naidu hoisting the Indian flag and receiving the national salute.

Following the formal proceedings, the occasion took on a festive tone with the parade featuring contingents from various police forces, NCC cadets, and the CRPF. The parade highlighted the state's security and educational infrastructure.

To add cultural flair, tableaux representing state departments displayed welfare programs, developmental projects, and sectoral accomplishments. These elaborate floats demonstrated Andhra Pradesh's priorities and its vision for future growth.

The Chief Minister honored exceptional individuals and groups with medals and prizes. The 2nd Battalion of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP), Kurnool, claimed the top spot among armed contingents. The Karnataka State Special Police secured second place. The AP Social Welfare unit was named best unarmed contingent, while the NCC Girls and Sainik Welfare came in second and third respectively.

The tableau segment yielded its own winners, with the combined entries of Samagra Shiksha and Horticulture claiming first prize. Handlooms and Textiles took second place, followed by Forest. Numerous police officials received meritorious service medals for their commendable work.
