ADNOC confirms vessel attack in Strait of Hormuz, situation under control

ADNOC has confirmed that one of its vessels came under attack while navigating the Strait of Hormuz on Friday evening. Fortunately, there were no casualties reported, and the incident has been resolved. The company affirmed its dedication to safeguarding the welfare of seafarers and upholding freedom of navigation and maritime security. ADNOC urged the public to trust official sources for updates and to refrain from disseminating unverified information.

The UAE vehemently condemned the hostile Iranian attack on ADNOC vessels while they were transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the attack was a blatant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which highlights the significance of freedom of navigation and denounces attacks on commercial ships and attempts to impede international waterways.

The ministry denounced Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) for targeting commercial shipping, asserting that such actions constitute piracy and jeopardize regional stability, regional populace safety, and global energy security.

Various Gulf and Arab states joined in condemning the vessel attacks. The Arab League specifically denounced the assault on two UAE tankers. The nations stressed the importance of protecting commercial shipping, ensuring freedom of navigation, and preserving maritime security amidst the heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz.

Since the conflict's onset, ADNOC reported that a total of 15 vessels have been targeted, resulting in the loss of one crew member.
