Abdul-Aziz Abdu-Rahaman elected NPP Upper West Regional Chairman

Abdul-Aziz Abdu-Rahaman has been chosen as the new Upper West Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP). During the party’s regional executive elections at the Wa Technical Institute, Mr. Abdu-Rahaman won with 173 votes, outpacing his rival Kantong Alaska, who received 86 votes. The delegates also selected other regional officials as the NPP prepares for reorganization and mobilization ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Majeed Liman was chosen as the First Vice Chairman with 198 votes, while Philip Braimah earned the Second Vice Chairman position with 166 votes. Dr. Tanko Daniel Dauda was elected Secretary after receiving 186 votes, and Alhassan Suleman became Treasurer with 160 votes. Hamid Saana was named Organiser with 138 votes, and Dodoo Sadat was selected as Youth Organiser with 158 votes.

Yussif Alhassan won the Assistant Secretary spot with 200 votes, and Alhaji Muniru was elected Nasara Organiser with 179 votes. Nana Sadat was chosen as Communications Officer with 185 votes, and Minata Moomen secured the Women’s Organiser position with 139 votes. Despite a brief disruption by delegates from the Nandom Constituency, the elections proceeded peacefully.

The newly elected officials will oversee the NPP’s reorganization and grassroots activities in the Upper West Region as the party works to enhance its structures in preparation for the upcoming elections.
