Aaron Plessinger returns to Pro Motocross at Unadilla

Aaron Plessinger is back in the SuperMotocross (SMX) lineup at the Unadilla MX event, marking his second return from injury in less than three months. Plessinger informed NBC Sports during press day for Round 26 of the Pro Motocross series that he decided to return to Unadilla to test his performance and see how things pan out. He retired from Monster Energy Supercross after a crash in Birmingham, Alabama, round 10 of the SMX World Championship, where he was 10th in the championship standings.

Plessinger expressed that coming back mid-season is tough, as he had to completely rest his body due to a hip injury. He found his groove at High Point, scoring his first overall top-five of the season. However, things took a turn at the RedBud event when he crashed hard in the first lap of Moto 1, injuring his hips again. Despite the setbacks, Plessinger remains optimistic, aiming to secure good starts and stay competitive.

He currently puts himself at 75 to 80 percent fitness but believes the final three rounds are crucial in providing momentum for the SuperMotocross Playoffs. Plessinger views this as valuable training for the playoffs, stating that there's no better practice than racing itself.
