Solo publishing of ‘Bomdong’… “I work alone but I feel connected.”

Kim Hwa-young, a solo publisher and editor, has been running her own publishing company, "Booknamul", since March 2021. She started her career as a publishing editor in 2009 and decided to start her own company after leaving her job. Her first book was a poetry collection written by her mother, and she has since published around 20 books.

Despite facing financial difficulties, Kim is satisfied with her decision to run a solo publishing company, citing the freedom to set her own schedule and work at her own pace. She hopes to create books that are like "greens" - nourishing and enjoyable, and that will leave readers wanting more.
